Another Modest Proposal

So, the Governors of Florida and Texas have decided that the best thing they can do to serve their citizens is to gather up immigrants, many of whom are legally here and trying to escape from horrendous conditions in their home countries, only to then hustle them off, without notice, to other states. They justify this callous political stunt by saying that they are shipping their human cargo to states that say they want them. 

Well, there is that saying about the goose and the gander, so how about this.

Let’s gather up a whole bunch of MAGA idiots, put them on buses and, without warning, ship them to Florida and Texas. It’s just the other side of the same coin. Why should DeSantis and Abbot complain? There’s plenty of room in Texas, especially for Trumpsters, and the attrition of the senior population of Florida is always opening up new slots.

Here’s how we could do it. Pretend that we are having a big Trump rally. Advertise it on Trump media – you know, like Truth Social. The ads will be fraudulent, but how in the world could Truth Social complain about someone using their platform to put on a fraud. The very title of their platform is a fraud. That would be like Trump himself complaining that Biden is the one who has politicized the Justice Department. Oh, wait, he’s already done that.

Anyway, when all the MAGA types with their Trump flags and their Nazi garb appear at the rally site, they will see a whole fleet of buses with similar Trump insignia all over them. They will be led like the lemmings they are into the buses with promises of being taken to a very special meeting with Orange Julius himself – The Promised Land. This misrepresentation will mirror the lies that the comedy team of Abbot and DeSantis told the immigrants.

The buses, of course, will take them to Florida and Texas – a promised land if the promise is to undermine our democracy. 

Is this such a bad idea? Hell, the MAGA maniacs will end up in places where they will be much more comfortable. At the same time, our state will have excised a cancer from its healthy body politic and sent it to areas where its body politic is already in stage four.
