Republicans continually claim that the entire Impeachment effort is simply motivated by hatred of the President. They say that we want him Impeached, not because we have any specific reason, but because we simply can’t stand him.
They are right. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
The man is despicable. His morality is utterly antithetical to what should be the motivational underpinnings of the world’s most powerful person. Need I list the reasons why I think this? The problem with listing the reasons is that there are so many that any particularization minimizes their totality. I could say that he’s a demonstrable liar, but that would leave out his many intellectual failings. I could say that he’s a megalomaniac, but that would leave out his many childish behaviors. I could say that he’s a racist, but that would leave out his simplicity. The guy’s simply an asshole.
So, is ass-holiness impeachable? It should be. What could be a better reason to remove a person from a position where that person is capable of changing the world? Is it only if a President engages in some particular bad act that he or she should be booted out? Is a person who makes one discreet mistake more worthy of removal than a person whose very nature inclines him toward many devastating mistakes? Is that what the Framers really thought? I doubt it.
Let’s be clear and honest about something. Does anyone really think that Trump should be removed because of one phone call? Suppose Obama had made the Ukraine phone call. You can say he would never do anything like that, but, for the purposes of this hypothetical, let’s assume he had a bad day. Would you be clamoring for Obama’s impeachment on that basis? I wouldn’t.
Trump should not be removed simply because of the Ukraine call. The Ukraine call is a symptom of his disease. He suffers from ass-holiness. The phone call was a cough. His ass-holiness is tuberculosis. He’s a sick man and we must remove him from the Oval Office before his germs contaminate it.
Otherwise, I really like the guy.
Agree. Perpetual 1st degree asshole- ism is an assault on the world, the country and even The garden state which makes it impeachable.

First, there’s absolutely nothing that I like about the guy, even putting aside his failings as a President. He is simply not a decent human being. Second, no one should consider his impeachment as being about “one phone call”. The evidence is clear that his underhanded Ukrainian efforts were underway over a considerable period of time, dating back to at least October or November of last year, when Rudy Guiliani began getting involved and butting heads with the previous ambassador, whom he ultimately had removed. The bribery phone call was merely a tipping point in a long scheme. Trump deserves much more punishment than merely impeachment … but I’ll take that as a good start.
