(WASHINGTON, D.C. – December 21, 2019) – Charley “Chuck” Jones today announced that he is a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. Mr. Jones is an unemployed former bartender from West Pecos, Wyoming. Mr. Jones announcement makes him the 4,321st candidate, at least that we know of.
Mr. Jones will join the other candidates in the ongoing Democratic Debates. Tomorrow will mark the 48th straight day in which those debates have been taking place. Because of the rules that allow only 10 candidates in each debate, it will take over a year to complete them.
This, of course, means that the debates will continue beyond Election Day. As a result, there will be no Democratic candidate for President this time. As more candidacies arise, however, some have speculated that the debates may extend even beyond the next election. Democrats are concerned that they will never be able to offer a Presidential candidate again.
When asked about this development, President Trump said, “No collusion. No obstruction.” It is unclear why he thought that was responsive to the question, but it is just what he always says.
