Four score and 7,000 lies ago
I claimed that immigrants have brought forth unto this continent a new nation
Conceived by liberals and dedicated to the proposition that even brown people are our equals
Now we are engaged in a great political war
Testing whether our nation or any nation without a wall can long endure
My oblivious brain is now the battlefield of that war
I have dedicated all portions of that brain as a final resting place
Where all rational ideas are sent to die so that my ignorance might live
It is altogether ill fitting and improper for me to do this
But, in a larger sense, only I can dedicate, only I can consecrate, only I can hallow my wall
Because wise men who think about it will understand its foolishness far beyond my poor power to add or detract
It is for me, the living President, rather, to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before me
That from all the separated children I take increased devotion to my cause that ignored all sense of a family’s devotion
That I here highly resolve, that the sobbing families shall not have cried in vain
That this nation, under me, shall deny immigrants their freedom
And that government of the inept, by the wealthy and for the Russians shall not perish from the Earth
